USPS - Delivering through Disaster

Imagine COVID-19 without being able to receive mail? Whether it be a pandemic, terrorist attack, or a natural disaster the USPS has always made sure that mail delivery never halts - keeping our nation connected through its darkest moments. That said, sending and receiving mail is something that many of us take for granted.

Currently, the USPS is faced with a funding crisis, even as it functions to keep people safe and healthy during COVID-19 by delivering critical items such as stimulus checks and life-saving medicines, and by allowing (most) Americans to take part in their greatest civic duty - voting - through the use of mail-in ballots.

Watch this video, which is part of our exhibit "Connecting a Nation: Mail - the first social network," and then take our trivia quiz to test your USPS knowledge!

When you are done, write a letter to someone in your life and mail it. Receiving personal mail can help brighten someone's day, support the USPS, and allow you time to reflect on life away from technology.
