We invite young storytellers to share their creativity in “A Tale From My City!” Whether it’s a real memory, a piece of local history, or a totally imaginative adventure, we want to see stories inspired by the places, people, and spirit of your city
Guidelines
Who Can Enter

Ages 4–7
-
Ages 8-17
(Entries will be judged within these two age groups.)

Theme: A Tale From My City
Your story can be:

Fiction (superheroes, magical adventures, talking animals, etc.)

Nonfiction (real memories, local history, favorite places, family stories)
Think about:

A place you love in your city
-
A story from the past
-
An adventure that could happen right here
-
A character who lives in your city
Requirements

Create your original story as a:

Picture book OR
-
Graphic novel
-

Must include at least 6 pages
-
Maximum size: 8.5 x 11 inches

Include:

Words (written or dictated for younger children)

Illustrations (drawn, painted, or mixed media)

Submission Guidelines
Each entry must include the entry form and signed permissions:

Student’s name and age

Parent/guardian name and contact information

Title of the story

Signed permission for:

Display and reproduction of the story/artwork (print and online)

Contest Event Celebration & Winners​

Join us on Saturday, August 8, from 1 pm-3 pm at the Campbell Historical Museum for a celebration of all authors.
-
The Event will showcase all the entries, with light treats to enjoy.

Winners will be announced for each category.
-
1st-place winner will receive a gift certificate to a local bookstore, a Campbell Museums bookmark, and a sketchbook.
-
2nd & 3rd place winners will receive Campbell Museum bookmarks.
-
All participants will receive certificates of participation and a special Museum prize.
